Allen Gets a Job and his Tech Project Selected as one of Best in County.

Allen’s Golden Spoon reserves ran out several months ago. He was tired of not having any money and having to leech off his parents to fill his gas tank. So, he got himself a job at “Flower Girl,” a local florist, where he makes deliveries, cleans up clippings, de-thorns roses and prepares flowers for use, arranges the shop, and acts as “go fer.” I get jealous every night he comes home from work, gives fresh flowers to mom, and gets hugs and kisses. He only has one class on Tuesday and Thursday so he can work all day. He never has to work evenings or on Sundays. Cathy gives Allen 5 Beavers for the benefits of the new job.

Allen is taking an ROP animation class at Capo Valley on Mondays and Wednesdays. On January 19, he and a few students from his class participated in the Orange County Department of Education's Student Technology Showcase. Their project was called "Art of Animation." They were selected as one of the top five projects in the County and will present their project at the State Showcase in Palm Springs on March 8. In their project, they showed how they create the own animated films using video cameras adn scanners with pencil-test and 2D animiation software. Behind-the-scenes sotryboards, character designs and animatics (moving storyboards) showed guests a glimpse into the filmakers' creative process. See the write-up about their project below.
